Safety comes first
Light-based experiences are not right for everyone. PhaSona's default visuals are designed to be gentle, low-contrast, and non-strobing, and you can always use audio-only mode.
General wellness disclaimer
PhaSona is a general wellness app for relaxation and personal rituals. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate any disease or medical condition. Do not use PhaSona while driving, operating machinery, standing, or supervising others. Stop immediately if you feel discomfort, dizziness, nausea, eye strain, headache, anxiety, or unusual symptoms.
Photosensitivity warning
Some people may be sensitive to flashing or patterned light. Do not use visual modes if you have photosensitive epilepsy, a seizure history, unexplained blackouts, migraines triggered by light, or if a clinician has advised you to avoid flashing lights. The default PhaSona visual modes are designed to be gentle and low-risk, but no light-based experience can be guaranteed safe for everyone.
Headphones and volume
Binaural audio effects require stereo headphones. Keep volume comfortable and never use the app at painful or unsafe levels.
Who should not use visual modes

How to use PhaSona safely
Use PhaSona seated or lying down, in a place where you do not need to watch anything or anyone else. Never use it while driving, operating machinery, standing, or supervising others. Start with short sessions and the default visual intensity. If you feel discomfort, dizziness, nausea, eye strain, a headache, anxiety, or anything unusual — stop right away. The stop control is always on screen, and pressing Escape stops a session on the web.
Audio-only mode
Every session can run with no visuals at all. Audio-only mode is a first-class way to use PhaSona — not a reduced experience — and it is never locked, gated, or hidden. If you are unsure about the visuals, start here.
Photosensitivity
PhaSona's default visual modes use slow breathing gradients, soft glows, and drifting color. They avoid hard flashing, saturated red flashes, and full-field strobing, and a safety check validates every session before it plays. Even so, some people may be sensitive to flashing or patterned light — if that includes you, keep visual modes off.
Volume
Binaural audio effects require stereo headphones. Keep volume comfortable and never use the app at painful or unsafe levels. PhaSona warns you when the volume setting climbs above a comfortable level and enforces a hard cap on output gain. Set the volume so the sound sits behind your attention, not in front of it.
Tell us how it felt
After any session you can leave a comfort report — a quick note about anything that felt off, from brightness to volume to pacing. There is also a safety-concern shortcut on the contact page. These reports go straight into how we tune sessions.
Accessibility settings
PhaSona respects your system reduce-motion setting automatically. In app settings you can lower visual intensity, reduce motion further, or turn visual effects off entirely, and these choices apply to every session. Text, controls, and touch targets follow accessible design guidelines throughout the app.
Something felt off during a session? Report a safety concern — those reports are reviewed first.
